The Whole Foods Market in the new Hamilton Crossings shopping center will include a restaurant serving alcoholic beverages.
It is part of growing trend of grocery chains including restaurants that sell alcohol to their customers. On Thursday night, Lower Macungie Township commissioners approved an inter-municipal liquor license transfer for Whole Foods.
Opening late next year, it will be the first Whole Foods Market in the Lehigh Valley. Construction of Hamilton Crossings is underway between Route 222 and Hamilton Boulevard. Whole Foods will be on the west side of Krocks Road, which divides the 63-acre shopping center and will serve as its main entrance.
