Scaffolding began to go up Monday morning around a five-story office building being converted to apartments on Centre Square in Easton.

The building at 6 Centre Square will continue to host a Wells Fargo Bank on the first floor and is expected to include more than 25 apartments on the upper four floors when the renovation is complete by developer Dennis Benner.

The Bethlehem developer couldn’t be reached Monday morning, but he said in October that he wanted to start bringing in tenants by next summer.

Easton Mayor Sal Panto Jr. on Monday morning said the apartment conversion is still in the works and that Benner has planning and zoning approval to go forward.
