The new leader of Lehigh University in Bethlehem unveiled plans for a $250 million investment into the campus to bolster its comprehensive plan, modernize its infrastructure and upgrade its research facilities.

President John Simon made the announcement during his installation as the university’s 14th president. He said the investment will focus on the areas of financial aid, teaching, global learning and research and student life.

The university will use the funds to bolster Lehigh’s aid packages, globalize Lehigh’s campus by including more education about world topics, reimagine the University Center and upgrade the university’s aging physical plant, focusing on its laboratory and technical infrastructure.
