BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A public hearing has been scheduled before Bethlehem City Council on the controversial proposal to rezone the 53-acre Martin Tower property.

Council voted Tuesday to hold that hearing 7 pm Oct. 6 in Town Hall.

Resident Bruce Haines, who has been leading center city merchants who oppose that rezoning, told council: “I urge you not to even put it on the agenda.”

But council already unanimously had voted to do just that.
